We can also use spinach, kaylan, brocolli, kangkong, bok choy instead of pechay taiwan.

I really love any green, leafy vegetable mixed with oyster sauce and topped with a lot of fried minced garlic. I can eat a whole bunch!

Want an easy, simple dish that is really appetizing?

Get some eggplant or talong then fry it!
Prepare alamang then squeeze some calamansi juice on top to remove the lansa.
Now, you survive a meal! Haha... Thrifty, delicious and soooo Filipino!

Nilagang Mais (Boiled Corn)

nilagang mais, boiled corn

Nilagang mais (boiled corn) is one of the favorite snacks here in the Philippines.

There are different ways how the corn can be boiled:
1. With the husk and silk - you can find this often in the side street vendors
2. Remove the husk and silk - this is how we prefer it at home
3. Remove the cob - especially those being sold in the stalls. Then the corn is topped with powdered cheese.

Regardless how one boils the corn, the result is still simply delicious.

I really like it when I put some cheese spread on to the hot, hot, boiled japanese corn. I love the combination of mild sweetness and saltiness. Soo yummy!

Oatmeal with Oreos

I was home alone watching a movie of Anne Curtis, Derek Ramsey and Andie Eigenmann. It was already dark and my tummy was calling for dinner. I was so lazy to cook dinner just for me so I've decided for an oatmeal. I've seen a pack of oreo and boom, I knew what to indulge for my supper.
